Frequently Asked Questions
Is my child’s development within the normal range?
Our reading room provides an overview of speech & language milestones as well as physical milestones according to key stages of development.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. Simply contact us and our team will be happy to arrange your appointment.
How long will I have to wait for an appointment?
As long as we have an open appointment time available, you could be seen within the week. We do not operate waiting lists and if in the unlikely event we are unable to accommodate you, will refer you on to another local therapist.
How long is each session?
Sessions vary between 30-60 minutes depending on the age of your child and the purpose of the appointment. Assessments generally take longer than an average therapy session would. Similarly younger children typically cope better with shorter duration appointments of 30 minutes.
How often will I need to come?
This really depends on the nature of the problem and the level of concern. We will be happy to discuss this with you and make recommendations regarding this once we know you and your child better. On average children tend to attend sessions once per week unless they have more complex needs.
How long will therapy take?
It is never easy to predict treatment length since many factors influence the success of therapy. Depending on the nature and severity of the difficulty your child has, therapy could last from just a few weeks to a number of months. Children with complex needs may need longer term support. If this is the case we will be happy to discuss and agree a number of therapy sessions with a review date for future decision making.
How much will sessions cost?
See our Prices page
What is the cancellation policy?
We have a 24hr cancellation policy – appointments not cancelled / cancelled on the day of your session are charged in full
