Karolina Gburczyk – Play Therapist and Yoga Practitioner

Karolina Gburczyk is a qualified Play Therapist and a Veronica Sherborne Developmental Movement Practitioner.  She has an MA in Psychology from Kazimierz Wielki University, Poland 2003 and a Play Therapy Diploma from Salomons Southborough Christchurch University, Canterbury, 2009. She has been working as an ABA/VB therapist with children who are on the autistic spectrum, and with children who have learning difficulties and behavioural problems and their families for several years.

Karolina is also a qualified children’s yoga teacher for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and Relax Kids coach.  She has also worked as a yoga teacher with special needs children, and has been practicing B.K.S Iyengar yoga herself for the past 10 years.

As a play therapist Karolina aims to provide a “free atmosphere” within safe boundaries where children are allowed freedom to express themselves.  Karolina believes that play it is not only fun but it is essential for child’s physical, emotional and social development. She also believes that during play therapy children can learn to become their own therapists.  Karolina abides by the PTUK principles and code of ethics.

Coming from a psychology background, Karolina understands that getting fit and healthy is just as much about the mind as it is about the body. Fitness has always been a great part of her life journey. She is a part time fitness instructor working in different sport clubs in London.  Apart from fitness Karolina loves traveling. Her dream is to visit India again and go hiking in Nepal.
