Lisa Gadsby
BSpPath, MRCSLT, HPC.
Lisa trained as a Speech and Language Therapist in Australia and relocated to the UK in 2008. She has experience working with both preschool and school-aged children across nurseries, primary, secondary and special education settings.
Lisa is experienced in providing assessment and therapy for a large range of language, speech sound and social communication difficulties in both individual or group therapy sessions. She is registered to accept BUPA clients and her areas of special interest include:
- Early communication including parent-child interactions and preventative services
- Speech sound delays / disorders
- Language delays / disorders
- Social communication difficulties / disorders
Lisa enjoys working in a collaborative environment and always seeks to include the child’s family, educational staff and other professionals in goal-setting and treatment in order to maximise your child’s progress.

- Hanen ‘It Takes Two to Talk’ – a course for parents of young children who are late talkers. www.hanen.org
- Nuffield Dyspraxia training – a widely used programme to manage Developmental Verbal Dyspraxia / Childhood Apraxia of Speech and other severe speech disorders. www.ndp3.org
- Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) training – a successful approach that uses pictures to develop communication skills in children with learning and communication difficulties (including Autism) www.pecs.org.uk
- Elklan Licenced Tutor – a training course for parents and educational staff to promote communication skills of children. www.elklan.co.uk
- Makaton Signing – a language programme which uses speech and gesture, facial expression, eye contact and body language to promote the development of spoken language skills. www.makaton.org
- Lisa is dysphagia trained and can provide advice on general feeding and meal-time management.
