Sophie is experienced in working with pre-school and school-aged children across a variety of settings including clinics, nurseries and schools, assessing and providing therapy for children with a wide range of speech, language and communication difficulties. She is experienced in 1-1 therapy and running small groups for children with speech sound and language difficulties.
Sophie recognises the importance of joint working with parents and teachers, and liaises closely with them to provide advice and strategies to develop and support children’s communication skills in all environments. She has carried out training sessions for teaching staff and developed numerous school/home programmes.
Sophie is trained in The Lidcombe Programme of Early Stuttering Intervention and has attended workshops on Parent-Child Interaction, Cued Articulation and the Nuffield Centre Dyspraxia Programme.
