Emma is a Highly Specialised Psychologist with experience in working across various child and adolescent mental health settings working with a range of mental heath conditions, physical health conditions, looked after children, those with neurodevelopmental conditions such as ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), learning difficulties and verbal and non-verbal children with learning disabilities.

Emma works with a wide range of presenting difficulties found in younger children, adolescents and their families, such as:
Behavioural difficulties/ challenging behaviour
Anxiety (including social anxiety)
OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)
Low self esteem
Difficulties adapting to stressful life events
Friendship difficulties and bullying

Working in collaboration with the child and parents (where appropriate), and also schools and other agencies. Emma can offer a range of assessments and therapeutic interventions tailored to the individual need and in discussion with the young person and/or parents. These include:
Cognitive assessments (intellectual ability/developmental delay: areas of strength and limitation)
Assessments of emotional/behavioural and mental heath difficulties
Therapeutic work may be offered on an individual basis or with the child/young person and their carer(s), for instance:
Advice and support in ASD/ADHD post diagnosis
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties
Behavioural approach (Positive Behavioural Support model)
Work focussing on Parent/carer child relationship
Parenting strategies and support
Systemic and Narrative approaches, including Solution focussed Therapy
Registered Practitioner Psychologist with Health and Care Professions Council UK (HCPC).
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Canterbury Christ Church University, Salomons Centre.
