Emma Rendle – Speech & Language Therapist

Emma has over 20 years’ experience as a Speech and Language Therapist working with pre-school and school aged children in a variety of settings including the NHS, community clinics, pre-school child development centres, pre-school language unit, and mainstream schools. She has also worked in special needs schools for students aged 6-19 years with moderate, complex and severe learning difficulties, speech and language difficulties, social communication difficulties and autism.

Emma can provide assessment and therapy, either individually or in groups, for children and young people with a wide range of difficulties including:

Makaton – this involves using signs and symbols to help support spoken language, understanding and attention
Talking Mats – provide help to support people with communication difficulties to express their preferences, feelings and verbalise their thoughts using picture communication symbols
Team Teach – provides a framework for positive behavioural strategies designed to reduce anxiety, risk and restraint
Accredited Elklan trainer – Elkan provides courses for parents, education staff and other professionals working with those with speech, language, communication needs and autism.
