Rachel is a skilled Clinical Psychologist who has over six years of experience of working with children, young people and their families in various settings within the NHS.

Rachel has worked for the NHS in CAMHS sevices (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) and in specialist services for children, adolescents and their families, including a Refugee service, Looked After Children’s service and a Gender Identity Service.

Rachel feels passionately about working with young people, to support them to thrive within their environment. She works within a systemic and strength-based framework, drawing upon the client’s internal and external resources to help them to manage challenges. Rachel recognises the importance of building a trusting therapeutic relationship and the benefit of working collaboratively with the child and their wider network – including family members and teachers.

What Rachel Can Help With

Rachel can help with a number of issues, including:

  • Emotional difficulties such as anxiety, depression and low self-esteem

  • Behavioural difficulties presenting at home or in school

  • Deliberate self-harm, such as cutting

  • Struggles with identity, such as distress related to gender identity

  • Cognitive assessments, including the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC).

  • Parenting support

  • Phobias including social phobia

  • Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Stress at home or at school

  • Developmental delays or concerns

  • Support for children with concerns related to social communication or attention difficulties including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Areas of Special Interest

Rachel specialises in using a range of therapeutic models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Narrative Therapy, to help children and adolescents. She also works systemically with families to think about how they can support the child in managing emotional and behavioural issues.

Rachel uses a variety of established therapeutic models including:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

  • Systemic and Narrative approaches

  • Brief therapies such as behavioural approaches and Solution Focused Therapy

  • Mentalisation-Based Therapy

  • Compassion Focused Therapy

Professional Qualifications and Registration

  • Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (UK).

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of East London.
